Yesterday, I got to have a Bible study with my dorm group, and then I got to talk with my small group afterward. I realized based on the two testimonies I heard, many Christians try to make it through struggles by themselves. They do not simply give it all to God.
We daily go through struggles, but then we try and though it out. We focus on what the problem is and whatever we can do in our power to make the problem better. We want to solve the problem ourselves, and when we realize we can't we begin to panic and fall apart.
I, as I am writing this, have many concerns that can affect my life in dramatic ways. Yet, this is something that I have really been working on recently. Obviously, it is something that I cannot do on my own, but I am learning to give all my cares and concerns to God. I want to give Him the glory for everything He does in my life, and it is not my place to worry or try to solve my problems.
Of course, I should not just stay in bed all day and assume that God will take care of my finances. Nor should I skip out on class and assume that God will give me all A's in my classes. Yet, I should not focus solely on working non-stop to make ends meet, or studying twenty-four seven to assume that I will be able to pass my classes. I need to ask the Lord for wisdom to be able to know what I am studying and to pay attention in class and to my textbooks. I need to ask the Lord to give my guidance on how he wants me to spend my money.
This is an article on the shorter side, but I think the message behind it is so powerful. This may take some time for it to finally click, but this is something that everyone needs to deal with. We are not bigger than God and thank goodness for that. No matter what happens, God is in control and He has a plan for each one of our lives. We need to trust Him and rely on Him through all of life's difficulties.
